Review Hearing

New Jersey DYFS Review Hearing Attorneys

After the dispositional hearing, the court will schedule the case for a Review Hearing (or several Review Hearings) to check on how you and your child are doing. At Review Hearings, the court will find out whether you are following current court orders and, where necessary, make new orders in your case. DYFS and the law guardian will continue to report to the judge about your progress and your child. DYFS will submit written reports, called court reports about your case for the court to consider. Since the information contained in the reports may likely be false or objectionable, your NJ DYFS lawyer should review the court reports before the Review Hearing. At the hearing, your lawyer can correct information in a report, object to other information and add additional information.

When the court finds that you can safely care for your child at home, it will order that your child be returned to you. The court may continue your case for another few months after your child is returned to make sure that you are providing a safe and stable home for your child. The Court should soon dismiss your case. Of course, if your New Jersey DYFS lawyer is not handling the case the right way, you may wind up losing your children forever. Thus, the Review Hearing are where the case is really going to turn. If you have a great lawyer, he or she has set into motion a plan from day one that will result in the return of your children even though DYFS is fighting to take them away. If you want a New Jersey DYFS Review Hearing Attorney that will fight for you and develop a real plan, call us right now.
